P.S. 8 The Luis Belliard School is a community school located in Washington Heights, Manhattan, serving students in 3K through 5th grade. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners through rigorous instruction, social-emotional support, and enrichment.

Our Mission

We will afford all children the opportunity to be responsible, creative, well-adjusted individuals by providing rigorous instruction, character education, and comprehensive support services. Through shared decision-making, collaborative planning, differentiation and small group instruction, we will promote a strong foundation of knowledge, skills, and experience in order to raise academic achievement.

Our Vision

We envision our school as a corps committed to creating confident, well-educated, lifelong learners. Together with the Children’s Aid Society, our administration, staff and parents actively provide students with high-quality opportunities for standard-based learning through the development of academic, technological, and social skills in a safe and non-threatening environment.
